Days are longer, the sun is warm and shining and there is a gathering, party or event around every corner. I absolutely love this time of year. But recently I’ve found to be getting very agitated while I’m out at a party or gathering and being left with either water or a cheap concentrated orange juice to drink because I don’t drink alcohol, whilst everyone else enjoy’s a colourful, tasty, refreshing alcoholic drink. Don’t get me wrong there is nothing wrong with water, water rules, but not when your out being social with a water in your hand that results in you getting weird looks and not to mention the usual repetitive conversation that you can’t seem to avoid no matter what you do .”Don’t you drink alcohol ? why?” etc etc etc, it can get very boring.

So naturally I did something about this and created a refreshing tasty Alcohol Free Vegan Peachy Bellini Recipe which not only tastes delicious but detoxifies, builds immune health and aids weight loss! Now you can hold a drink without anyone giving you any funny looks and actually feel part of the party and enjoy yourself as well as getting a load of health benefits! winner

Tip: I always bring my own just incase I haven’t been catered for. I get so much enjoyment introducing others to more healthy, delicious options and opening their minds.

Kombucha

I’m sure you’re wondering what the hell Kombucha is?! I know the same thing went through my mind when I heard the word. Kombucha is basically fermented tea and sugar. It is made by fermenting black or green tea using a “symbiotic ‘colony’ of bacteria and yeast” SCOBY. I know that sounds gross but this process is so beneficial to our bodies especially our guts as it contains many enzymes, vinegar, B vitamins and probiotics which give us many health benefits.

Digestive health

Kombucha contains high levels of beneficial acid, a living colony of bacteria and enzymes making it a probiotic drink. Some research has shown that kombucha helps to prevent and heal leaky gut and stomach ulcers. It has been proven to be as effective as drugs like Prilosec, which are commonly prescribed for heartburn, GERD and ulcers. Lastly kombucha can also help to heal candida yeast from over populating within the gut as it helps to restore balance to the digestive system. It contains live probiotic cultures that help the gut to re-populate with good bacteria while crowding out the candida yeast.

Weight Loss

Data from a study in 2005 showed evidence that kombucha improves metabolism and limits fat build up as kombucha is high in acetic acid, just like apple cider vinegar, and polyphenols which have been proven to increase weight loss.

Have you tried my Green Apple Cider Vinegar Cleansing Tonic that contains Apple cider vinegar another great cleansing, weight loss drink ? Click here to see it.

Immune Health

Scientists suspect that a powerful antioxidant known as D-saccharic acid-1, 4-lactone (DSL) and the vitamin C present in kombucha are its main secrets in protecting against cell damage, inflammatory diseases, tumors and overall depression of the immune system. Also, we know the probiotics found in kombucha support the immune system.

Detoxification

Kombucha’s detoxification capacity is huge. It is high in Glucaric acid as well as many other enzymes and bacterial acids that the body uses to help the liver naturally detox reducing and easing the burden on the pancreas and liver.

Did you know: The recently deceased Russian author and nobel-prize winner Alexander Solzhenitsyn, in his autobiography, claimed that kombucha tea cured his stomach cancer during his internment in soviet labor camps. And because of this testimony, President Reagan used Kombucha to halt the spread of his cancer in 1987!
