We’re all going bananas over this weeks smoothie, coz it’s da bomb! Myself and Stefania wanted a banana but didn’t want to eat one today , lol don’t ask I think it’s because we’ve eaten so many this week we fancied a bit of a change. I had just finished making my weekly batch of Almond butter for the week and decided to combine both ingredients in this weeks smoothie, and boy did it work out!
The perfect human food! This is one of those fruits that I feel each of us should be eating at least once a day. Bananas are low in fat and high in nutrition, in fact they can actually aid in weight loss while keeping your bowels regular and healthy! So if you have a sweet tooth, a well ripe banana will satisfy that craving! Rich in potassium and electrolytes bananas are also good for your heart and contain vitamins A, B, E, K and C.
Now these guys are full of the good fats. A tablespoon of flax seeds contains about 1.8 grams of Omega 3 as we need fats. Flax seeds are also ranked as the number one source of lignans which are fiber-like compounds which also provide antioxidant protection due to their polyphenols. This unique structure of lignans are one of the few naturally occurring compounds in food that function as moderate estrogen when consumed by humans. Flax seeds are also great for cardiovascular health because of their anti inflammatory and antioxidant protection as well as prevent cancer.

Almond Butter Banana Bomb Smoothie Recipe
- 1 Banana
- 1 Cup Almond milk
- 3 tbs Almond butter
- 1 tbs Date syrup
- 1 tbs Flaxseeds
- 1/2 tsp Himalayan salt
- Handful of Ice
- Place all the ingredients in the blender and blend
- Pour into a glass and enjoy!
This weeks smoothie is super quick and easy to do as well as being extremely satisfying. I hope you guys enjoy this and make it regularly. I love having it before I work out as it’s packed with potassium and carbs which really make a difference to how energized and consistent your work out will be. Maybe this will work for you.
