Since the sun is continuing to shine and my jumpers are still tucked away neatly in my drawers I thought I’d get one more fresh, summery smoothie bowl recipe up on the blog for you to enjoy before autumn really kicks in. This was inspired from my Must Have Morning Green Smoothie that is a staple to my healthy lifestyle, giving the classic a twist.

Before we get into this. I promise in this smoothie bowl recipe, you can’t taste Spirulina at all! So don’t click away just like I would of when I saw Spirulina as an ingredient. Try this. It’s SO delicious, super pretty and full of nourishing vitamins and minerals your body needs!

Spirulina

Spirulina has such an amazing nutritional profile, inflammation-fighting properties and high protein content that it’s a food that you want to be adding into your diet to benefit from!

The Glow Part..

The pineapple! Alongside the other cleaning, detoxifying ingredients in this bowl. Pineapples contains 120% of daily recommended value of vitamin C. The presence of adequate amount of vitamin C helps to contend the free radicals thus helps in prevention of many diseases including prevention of pimples, acne, blemishes and wrinkles. Pineapples are also very hydrating replenishing your skin from the inside out. Pineapple is also the only known source of an enzyme called bromelain, which is a powerful anti-inflammatory that may also reduce the symptoms of hay fever, ulcers, and burns.

Glowing Green Smoothie Bowl Recipe

Ingredients
Serves 2-3

  • 2 Banana
  • 1/4 cup Plant based milk. ( I used hemp)
  • 1 cup of frozen pineapple
  • 2 tbs Desiccated coconut
  • 1 tbs Chia seeds
  • 1 tsp Spirulina

Directions

  1. Place all of the ingredients in the blender and blend at highest speed until smooth and creamy.
  2. Pour into a bowl and top with your favourite toppings. I used blueberries, chive flowers, mulberries, desiccated coconut and sunflower seeds.
