Creamy Spiced Pumpkin Latte Recipe

 

That time of year has come around where all you want to do is put your cozies on and snuggle under a blanket In front of the tv with a soothing hot drink. As it’s squash season I decided to make a creamy spiced pumpkin latte to warm you guys up!! Your welcome lol. This not only warms you up but is also very satisfying if you are craving an evening snack as it’s very filling!

 

Pumpkin

only one cup of cooked pumpkin contains more than 200 percent of your recommended intake of vitamin A which is essential for night vision as well as keeping your skin wrinkle free. Also pumpkins are great for refueling after a workout as they have 564 milligrams of potassium (bananas have 422 milligrams) which helps restore the bodies balance of electrolytes and keeps the muscles functioning at their best!

Banana

keeps you smiling! Due to the high levels of tryptophan, which is converted into serotonin- the happy mood brain neurotransmitter,helps overcome depression, reduce stress and helps regulate your sleep pattern. Bananas are also great for digestion as they act as a prebiotic by stimulating the growth of  healthy bacteria in the bowls.

Dates

Are high in magnesium which is a mineral known for its anti-inflammatory benefits which can reduce the risk of arthritis, cardiovascular disease and also help lower bloods pressure. Dates are also great for your digestive health as they contain 27% of you recommended daily allowed of fiber (based on 100g serving) . Keeping your colon clean and healthy !

 

Nutmeg

Is the perfect herb to help you wind down in the evening. When mixed with a warm nut milk it can help you relax and fall asleep more easily because of its high-content of magnesium which is a important mineral in your body which decreases nerve tension. Nutmeg reduces anxiety as well as being a natural pain reliever which is great if you suffer joint or muscle pain, arthritis and even abdominal pain!  Nutmeg is also a detoxifier of the liver and kidneys removing any toxins that can build up over time.

 

Cinnamon

is the most beneficial spice on the planet! Not only does is it packed with antioxidants it has anti microbial, anti diabetic, anti inflammatory , heart protecting , has cancer fighting abilities and immune boosting properties!! A little goes a long way, only half a teaspoon daily is going to give you these positive effects!

 

Vanilla

is rich in antioxidants and B vitamins which protect your skin from damage caused by environmental pollutants toxins reducing free radicals in your body also making vanilla cancer fighting !

 

Spice pumpkin latte ingre

 

Ingredients
yields 2-3 cups

  • 1/2 cup cooked pumpkin
  • 4 tbs date syrup
  • 1/4 tsp Nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 cups Almond Milk


Directions

  1. Make sure you have cooked your pumpkin before you add it to the blender . Then add all the remaining ingredients and blend.
  2. If you have a blender that heats up when left on then you can leave it to heat up. If not once everything is blended pour it into a pan and heat over the stove.
  3. Once all is smooth and hot, pour into your mug, sprinkle some cinnamon on top. Sit back, relax and enjoy!

 

Side note – This can get quite thick so if you need to just add a little more almond milk until you get your desired consistency!
